Remember January 25th and all that rain/wind? And remember how the Amtrak trains were delayed because of the bad weather?
Well, if your train is ever more than 1 hour late, you can call Amtrak’s customer service to try to get a partial refund in the form of a credit voucher. I followed my own advice and my voucher came in the mail yesterday.

Hi Sri,
I’ve gotten full refunds when the delay has been really big -i.e. when I was supposed to get back at around 10:30pm and I didn’t arrive home until after 1:00 am.
I recommend that you explain the situation, ask for the refund and wait to see what they offer.

Wow, I’ve been delayed twice over 3 hours due to some track problems between NYC and Albany. Never knew I could get a refund.
