I’ve mentioned that Robert and I had recently celebrated our wedding anniversary at Turning Stone Resort Casino last month.

During our getaway, we enjoyed dining at some of the great restaurants that this relatively close destination has to offer:

Located right on the main floor of our luxury hotel, The Lodge, this Forbes Four Star rated restaurant specializes in contemporary American cuisine. A favorite of mine was a special offering for that night, a delicious duck taco.

Don’t Miss: We loved ending our meal with a unique experience: table-side churned ice cream with one of the restaurant’s summer-fresh flavors. Our server came out with what looked like a large food mixer with a handle.
She then started to turn the handle while pouring ingredients into the bowl. This included a special one, liquid nitrogen, which was designed to speed up the freezing process.
This resulted in scoops of delicious creamy ice cream.
This informal restaurant located on the second floor of main building featured a diverse menu of soups, salads, appetizers and entrées with New York State ties, including Binghamton Spiedie Rods, Utica Shrimp Riggies and Western New York’s classic Shaved Beef on Weck. The culinary inspirations were from time-honored, New York-inspired American classics prepared with fresh ingredients made from scratch and locally sourced when available.

An interesting addition to this menu were the restaurant’s unique hamburgers. Upstate Tavern Chef Dustin Tuthill used Saranac Root Beer for his glaze, which was made there in Central New York at FX Matt/Saranac Brewing in Utica.

Located at the top of the Tower Hotel, TS Steakhouse featured a wonderful menu and great service along with a 360 degree panoramic view of the surrounding countryside.

Inspired by the cultural dining history of the Oneida Indians and their practice of “eating the seasons,” TS Steakhouse works to build on this long- standing tradition to deliver fine dining steakhouse favorites created with fresh, seasonal ingredients.

While Robert and I are not golfers, we enjoyed having lunch at Turning Stone’s Shenendoah Clubhouse Grille. Styled to resemble a stone and cedar tudor mansion, The Clubhouse was a grand, yet unobtrusive, structure that blended very well into its surroundings. The Shenendoah Grille had both indoor and outdoor dining on the patio overlooking the beautiful golf course.

Wonderful anniversary!

We are not much for gambling or golfing. What is there to do in the area?
