It’s so horrible how hard last week’s earthquake affected the coastal area of Ecuador. However, Quito Tourism wants us to know that Quito, the Andes and the Galapagos Islands are still fine to visit. Here’s their breakdown of the affects of the earthquake in the various regions of this country:

 

 

A month and a half ago, JetBlue invited me to visit Quito as part of their inaugural nonstop flight from that Fort Lauderdale to that destination. During my stay, I had the opportunity to view many of this city’s beautiful attractions including the Calle La Ronda area

where there are great shops including those for handmade hats,

 

 

great food including ice cream,

 

and workshops.

 

 

I’m looking forward to returning to Quito. It’s a beautiful city, and a great stop before traveling on to the Galapagos Islands.
