A couple of weeks ago, I made my way to San Francisco to visit my brother Bruce and his husband, Bill.
Although over the years I’d traveled to this beautiful city quite a lot, I’d never been to the Walt Disney Family Museum. Located within the former military barracks of the Presidio area, this is not just a child’s museum as it explores in detail the many high and low points of this fascinating individual’s life.

The galleries include numerous mementoes, awards, as well as audio, video, and interactive stations.
This was some place where you could spend at least a couple of hours learning much more about Disney’s life including his contributions to the New York World’s Fair.
And, as an extra bonus, this museum is affiliated with the National Association of Reciprocal Museum Association (NARM). So, for example, if you have a certain level of membership with the Albany Institute of History and Art which is also associated with NARM, you get to go to these main galleries for free.
Let us know if you’ve been there and, if so, what you thought about it.
