Last month my eighteen year-old daughter and I were given the wonderful opportunity to try out the New York Pass. This promotion provides you with discounts and admissions to 80 attractions in New York City. This huge selection had a number of advantages. Yes, you have a lot to choose from, but the New York Pass also provides you with the opportunity to try something new you might not have otherwise have visited. Did you visit something that didn’t meet with your expectations? No problem. Leave and try something else.
So here’s what my daughter and I experienced on our New York Pass adventure:
Sarah and I first caught the early train from Albany to Manhattan’s Penn Station. It was about a two and a half hour ride, but the beautiful scenery along the Hudson River mades the trip go much more quickly.

After arriving in Manhattan, my daughter and grabbed a subway to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden.

Subway Stop
I had never been there before, and without the New York Pass I might not have traveled all the way down to the BBG to discover its lovely collections of flowers, ponds, and trees.

Then it was on to the eclectic Brooklyn Museum which was only a short walk away.

There were several interesting exhibits including The Rise of the Sneaker Culture that ends October 4th along with Faile: Savage/Sacred Young Minds.

After this, we headed back to Manhattan where we stopped at the Fulton Street Subway Station to walk around the city’s beautifully renovated Financial District. So many new commercial buildings have been built around this area including the gorgeous Brookfield Place with new shops and restaurants. Not listed in the New York Pass but definitely something to visit on the way to another attraction.

We had already traveled a lot of ground but there was more to see including the incredibly moving 9/11 Memorial Museum.
Next : More adventures including fast lane tickets to the 9/11 Memorial Museum.
