I’ve already mentioned that I attended last week’s AARP ‘s Life@50+ Expo with the hope of scouting out more travel discounts to tell you about.
Like many of us, I’ve received membership benefits from various organizations that I’ve never found a use for. So I was happy to see that, for the price of a $16 membership, this organization provides a very wide range of useful travel deals including:
Vacations By Rail: This company that specializes in train travel including trips on Europe’s Orient Express and Canada’s Rock Mountaineer also provides the following discounts to AARP members.

Zipcar: This company says that it has over 100,000 cars available over its many branches. The vehicles that can range from economy to luxury cars including a Mercedes GLK and can be rented for as little as $7.50 for an hour. AARP members get the membership for $40 with a $40 credit toward drive time.
Hyatt: AARP members save 10% off the daily rate.
Norwegian Cruise Lines. Their reps say that their most popular cruises are those that travel around the Hawaiian Islands. Solo travelers save 5%, and there is no single supplement.
Avis/Budget provides the following discounts as well to AARP members
Harry & David: Ok not exactly a travel company, but I’d drive pretty far for some of their delicious treats. I was told that this company offers a 20% discount to AARP members.
