Because travel on planes can be very dehydrating, many travel experts advise us to drink plenty of water.
Good advice but there’s one big problem: What goes into your body must eventually come out. And, unless you’re flying on a private jet or at least one of the few traveling in First Class, that wait for the restroom may seem interminable.
In addition to drinking water, what else can we do to combat dehydration? Travel + Leisure reports that Dr. Clayton T. Cowl, the chair of Preventive, Occupational, and Aerospace Medicine at the Mayo Clinic, says to avoid alcohol- based moisturizers, which can be drying (Cowl recommends a vitamin E lotion); pack natural eye drops and saline nasal spray; and skip the wine and cocktails.
