Joe Sharkey of the New York Times reports that we may no longer find SkyMall catalog, that airline fixture that hawks unusual gifts,in our seat-back pocket the next time we grab a flight.
Reasons for this catalog’s disappearance? More fliers are forgoing paper magazines and instead are reading on their tablets. But another big cause is that the airlines have realized that they can greatly increase their revenues by selling their own magazine space to a wide variety of advertisers.
