Albany Institute of History and Art: Translating Hieroglyphs Lecture on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 2PM

On Sunday, December 8, 2013, Ms. Joyce Haynes, consulting Egyptologist, will present a lecture in conjunction with the GE Presents: The Mystery of the Albany Mummies exhibition.

Click here for more details of this exhibition.

Ms. Haynes will share what this museum says has been a fascinating   investigation into the hieroglyphs and illustrated panels on the coffin, mummy board, and lid  of the Albany Institute of History & Art’s featured mummy, Ankhefenmut.

By reading the hieroglyphs and decoding the illustrations, she has been able to tell the Albany Institute who Ankhefenmut was, what he did in his lifetime, and how he prepared for the afterlife.

Where, What Time & How Much: The lecture will take place at the Albany Institute at 2PM and is free with museum admission.
