I can’t believe that this is my 1,000th post!
I’ve had such a great time over the years writing about my adventures while traveling the world along with discussing tips about so many topics including travel health, safety and savings.
I’ve really enjoyed all of your comments and advice as well. Thanks so much.
As I written before, my 16 year-old daughter, Sarah, and I had a great time during our spring break trip to Las Vegas, and we were happy to be invited to quite a few attractions that we both enjoyed.
Sarah and I were very glad to be invited to see the Venetian’s block buster show, 50 Greatest Photographs of National Geographic.

I really loved this exhibit. I’ve written before that I’ve been involved with the National Geographic as a member of the Grosvenor Council, and these photographs were amazing. Each of the 50 were beautifully displayed. A detailed description of where the subject was located in the world as well as how the picture was taken was also provided.

We were invited to visit the Seigfried and Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat as well. This exhibit is relatively small and geared more to younger children, but we were impressed as to how well the dolphins seemed to be cared for along with what we were told were daily vet examinations. I think that Sarah initially thought that she would be too old to appreciate the Sharf Reef Aquarium at the Mandalay Bay, but she like the array of sea life including the jelly fish and, of course, sharks. Click here for more information.
The trip wouldn’t have been complete for my teenage daughter if we hadn’t done a little shopping so we walked the strip to the Fashion Show Mall. While there are, of course, malls all around the country, this shopping center carried some less usual stores such as London’s Top Shop, Neiman Marcus, and Sur La Table. Click here for more info.
We were invited to also see a performance of Blue Man and to visit Madame Tussads and a mother-daughter experience at the Reliquary Spa & Salon at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino and Hotel. All sounded great but we just didn’t have enough time.
Great time.
