It was my birthday last month, and Robert and I wanted to celebrate this occasion someplace special, but relatively close to our home in New York’s Capitol District region.
So I was very happy when we were invited to stay at the Inn at Erlowest. This castle-like former mansion of local legend Charley Woods is located on Lake George, and it oozes with elegance and romance.

Tom Wysocki, Erlowest’s manager and a veteran of both the Gideon Putnum and the Sagamore resorts, took us on a tour of the Inn and showed us beautiful adults-only rooms that each generally host a luxurious king size bed and a large jacuzzi.

Tom told us that many people from our area, as well as New York City, come to stay at the Inn as a final destination, while others use it as a stop before ultimately traveling somewhere else. In fact that, while there, we met another couple from our area who was staying that night, but then leaving the next morning for Burlington, Vermont.
Dinner was an enjoyable two hour affair as our waiter Zach served us dishes prepared by their chef, a Culinary Institute of America graduate.

While years ago the restaurant was open to the general public, you presently need to stay at the Inn in order to eat there.
During the morning, we dined on pancakes and French toast and then walked around the grounds along the Lake.
Great birthday!
Note: The Inn at Erlowest intends to create various packages, and I’ve also seen that there are presently some B & B deals in Clipper.com.

Always wanted to eat there, didn’t know now the public can’t go. I should have went when I could. Thanks for the update.

Hi Sue,
I’ll let you know if I’m notified about a change in the policy. Take a look at the B & B deal at Clipper.com.
