Manhattan House Tour-October 22, 2011

Save the date for the Manhattan House tour sponsored by the New York Junior League that will be held on October 22, 2011.

The price has gone up to $100, but I don’t expect to be disappointed for this full day event. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I think that the experience is a bargain because you get a breakfast, buffet lunch, cocktail reception and entry into what has previously been 10 amazing multi-million dollar homes that, at least I, would normally not get a chance to visit.

The lunch will again be held at the Architecture & Design Building, GE Monogram, Miele, and Sub-Zero/Wolf  (150 East 58th Street between Lexington and Third Avenue). You normally can’t visit there unless you’re a designer. Here’s what I saw there last year.

Lunch at Designer Kitchens

This is what they say:

The New York Junior League’s Annual House Tours are devoted to showcasing New York City’s prestigious and luxurious residences, while highlighting architecture, art, history and the exquisite style of interior design. House Tour showcases homes in some of the city’s most sought-after neighborhoods, including Midtown East, the Meatpacking District, the Upper West Side and the West Village. The tour commences with a breakfast at the Astor House, followed by a self-guided tour through the homes; a buffet lunch, post-tour cocktail reception, and silent auction are also included.  Past tours have featured both designers’ own residences as well as those of their clients.
