Grub Street reports that the legendary Copacabana reopens on July 12, 2011.
Originally opened in the 1940’s on Manhattan’s 60th Street, the new incarnation of this famous club will reappear on 47th Street near 8th Avenue.
Grub Street says that this time there will a Latin element with Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays becoming “Latin night.” During the official opening, a fund-raiser will be held and the mayor is expected to attend.
We’re also told that , later this summer, Copacabana will open a rooftop tapas bar with along with a fifth-floor VIP room.
