An IPhone Language App That Sees Words In One Language and Displays Them in Another

The New York Times recently reported about World Lens an IPhone application which was characterized as a “marriage of translation software and augmented reality.”

The app is free, but a translation pack for Spanish to English or vise versa costs $5.00.

The paper’s opinion of how well it does? “In the real-world test, World Lens worked, sort of, but it should not expect a call from the United Nations.” Simple language is handled well, but not as much for more complicated sentences.
