Yesterday, I mentioned that I had attended a great lunch at the Food Network last month.
While food stylists were busy preparing our meal, I walked over to the right side of this huge kitchen. This is where the Food Network Magazine meals are picked and prepared to make sure that they really come out as delicious as they promise.
The December issue had just been published, and the food stylists that work for the magazine were talking about how cute the cover picture of the gingerbread girl had come out.

Right then they were working on the April 2011 issue. Lots of meals were being prepared and tasted (put this on my list of dream jobs!!)

One of the chefs was preparing all sorts of mushroom dishes from recipes that readers had sent in because of a monthly contest.

We talked a little about the nature of food styling and how, during the age of black and white TV, chocolate cake was actually dyed the color green to make it look more delicious on film.
After this visit and our delicious lunch, we were treated to another tour of the Food Network studios. This time to the amazing set of one of their shows.
