Once Sarah and I found our seats, we got up and mingled. It was pretty cool walking on the runway of a famous designer’s fashion show even though, of course, I wasn’t a participant.

Various photographers snapped pictures of people whom they admitted they weren’t sure, but hoped, were celebrities.

Sarah and I eventually returned to our seats, the lights dimmed, and the show started, albeit 30 minutes later than anticipated. Not a big deal for us, but important to the media and some of the other attendees because they had other fashion shows and events to go to.

On each of our seats was a folder with a list of the outfits to be shown with descriptions of the materials used.
The show moved very quickly as the models walked rapidly up and down the runway in generally pale, flowing creations, each with their own particular name.
After the show, Nicole Miller stepped out to a standing ovation and the attendees quickly left for their next event.
We received invitations to Nicole Miller’s after-show party, but you had to be 21 or over to attend, and I, of course, wasn’t going to leave my 14 year-old daughter to fend for herself alone at night in NYC.
So we headed on to the Soho store parties of Fashion’s Night Out.
Next: Meeting Tim Gunn and the participants of Project Runway.
