What things do you look for when you choose a hotel?
I look for for what is generally thought of as a very safe, accessible location, especially if I’m traveling alone. Cost is always a factor and I like a helpful concierge service.

A lot depends on where you’re going. Are you staying near a beach area or in a major city?
I’m not the greatest “hotel” fan. I don’t like that many people dancing around me, making pests of themselves. There are rare occasions when I’ve used a hotel in major cities, and I always check Trip Advisor before booking (and then use applicable discounts).
Motels, I use an efficiency if it makes sense to do so (store in area, bringing anything along, would I want quick meals instead of going out to eat), discounts, Trip Advisor comments, etc. A good breakfast is very important (some are fantastic, some are barely there).
B&Bs…not a great fan of being this cozy, especially since some seem to be strict (no drinks in room, etc.).

I have a list….
Its difficult to get any hotel or motel to help me since I have what amounts to an allergy to perfumes amoung other things. That includes so many things that even the big chains are hesitant to make a reservation for us. As a result we can rarely travel overnight.
I still read your blog with interest.
Thanks
Pete
