I got a question from LM concerning travel to NYC and Ottawa:
I’m not sure this is the place to ask, but I’ll give it a try:
Does anyone know of a safe place to park and ride to NYC?
Can anyone recommend hotels in Ottawa (Parliament Hill, Canadian War Museum areas)?
Does anyone think that they have good answers to these questions?
–As I’ve mentioned before in previous posts, you can park at the Albany-Rensselaer Train Station and grab a Megabus. You can also drive to one of the MetroNorth Stations along the way to NYC and grab a train into Manhattan’s Grand Central Terminal.
–I did a quick search and I found one website that discussed hotel deals in Ottawa. Click here.

Ottawa Tourism offers hotel-only rates as well as packages on its website at http://www.ottawatourism.ca
There’s also a Third Night Half Price option at selected hotels. The downtown core is very walkable — there will be several hotels within walking distance of Parliament Hill and the Canadian War Museum.
Good luck!
