I know, I know. The Empire State Building is one of the legendary icons of New York City. How can I commit such a sacrilege?
But when you consider the ease of getting a great view of that city-especially with a child or a Senior Citizen, I’d pick Top of the Rock ,the observation center at Rockefeller Center. Located on 50th street between 5th and 6th Avenue, the lines are so much shorter!
And the view is just as spectacular, which, incidentally, includes the Empire State Building.
While you’re there this month, check out the Starlight Music Series. You can enjoy the city at sunset with wine and hot chocolate while listening to what is advertised as being New York’s brightest stars. This series runs February 10, 17 and 24 from 6-8 pm with a special Valentine’s Day performance from 6-9:30.
One response to “The Empire State Building? Give me Top of the Rock!”
Agreed. That’s a good tip for tourists.
