Many of us have the dream of  “traveling the world.” My family and I have a big map in our basement, and, after we travel to a new country, we put a pin in that location to mark the achievement.

Well, how many countries are there to travel to? According to the experts in BBC Knowledge Magazine, the rule is that a country requires embassies. The numbers range from 192 UN members plus the Vatican to 266 “entities.”
