Finding discounts for Broadway Shows

It’s always a thrill to see a Broadway show in Manhattan, but the seats can get pretty expensive. Here are some of the ways to find discounted tickets:

1.   The local chapter of Amnesty International is providing discounts until January 31, 2010 for the play FELA!  at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on West 49th Street in Manhattan.  Tickets that are regularly priced at $112-122 can be bought for $67.00.

You can receive this discount two ways:

a) Order by phone: Call 212-947-8844 and mention code FEL4AMS   or

b) Print the coupon provided at this organization’s website and bring it to the theater.

2.  Sign up for promotions at BroadwayOffers.com, a service of Telecharge.com. You’ll get e-mails advertising discount tickets for specific performances.

3. Check out package deals at such companies as Yankee Trails World Travel. This travel company provides package deals combining bus transportation with tickets for various Broadway plays.

4. TKTS Discount Booths: TKTS Discount Booths in NYC offer discounts of up 50% of the for Broadway and off Broadway musicals.

  1. It is exciting and flattering to have our website link — http://www.ai361.org — appear in your blog. I just wanted to clarify that the reduced price is available through the larger organization, Amnesty International. Our Local Group 361 is simply sharing the information.

Amnesty International was instrumental in obtaining the release of Fela, once a Prisoner of Conscience. He was imprisoned because of the music now being performed in the Broadway production.

  2. Thanks for sharing this post Kim. Like you mentioned its too hard to get tickets for Broadway shows. I’ve heard Green Day’s American Idiot is coming to Broadway and I dont want to miss it. I will make the booking right away.
