While I was in New York City a little while ago, I went to Ben’s Kosher Delicatessen at 209 West 38th Street and had one of their famous sandwiches. Well, I just received an e-mail that notified me that something else came with that delicious meal-travel rewards!
I had signed up for two sets of dining travel promotions that gave me airline miles through United Airline’s Mileage Plus Dining and hotel reward points through Hilton HHonors Dining. I was already a member of both of these reward programs, but I needed to create a “profile” and then register my credit card or debit card. When I used my registered credit card to pay my bill at Ben’s, I earned airline miles and hotel points.
Here’s more information concerning these two offers:
Mileage Plus Dining: You can sign up for this promotion by visiting www.united.com/dining1. You create a profile and register a credit card. Whenever you use this credit card to dine at a participating restaurant, you earn three mileage points per dollar spent, including tax and tip. Right now they now have an additional promotion: you can earn 1000 miles if you dine at a participating restaurant and spend at least $25.00 within 30 days of creating your profile. This offer ends January 31, 2010.
Hilton HHonors Dining: You can sign up for this promotion by visiting www.hhonorsdining.com. By being an online member, you earn 5 points per dollar spent.
There are several restaurants in our area that are participating in these offers including Justin’s, Reel Seafood Company, the Envy Lounge, Simpson’s at the Desmond, and Savannah’s.

Ralph, the one restaurant that is available for your specific zip code is the Black Bear Diner-2605 Hilltop Drive (530) 926-1411. You receive 3 miles per dollar spent.
Sorry you couldn’t access the website. When I went to
www. united.com/dining1, it brought me to http://mpdining.rewardsnetwork.com. If you go to that website, you can plug in other zip codes.

I tried http://www.hhonorsdining.com and it works. Try http://mpdining.rewardsnetwork.com to find out more about earning United Airlines miles by dining at certain designated restaurants.

For Greensboro, NC, I saw that there were five different restaurants- Fishers Grille, Villa Rosa, Steak Street, and two Buffalo’s Bar and Grill.

Tom, I don’t believe that one cancels out the other, but I’ll check it out and confirm. Right now I’m stuck on an Amtrak train from NYC that was delayed because of mechanical problems.
